Hello Hungry Friends,
Here I am reviewing another restaurant near my hometown. This time I’m giving you the scoop on Humblebrags Eatery an American restaurant in Lakewood, CA.
The fam and I were on our way to Lakewood mall and decided to look for a breakfast joint nearby. When it comes to finding a new restaurant, one thing is always a priority: are dog allowed? So, this is what totally sold us while seaching on Yelp.
We started off by sharing their soup of the day – a Bacon Chowder, which was hands down delicious and perfect for the gloomy weather. The sourdough bread paired perfectly with the chowder when dipped. I would go back just for the soup alone.
My hubby has savory taste buds so he ordered the “Humble Burger.” Pretty solid choice, the burger has that traditional american taste and we love when the bread bun has good flavor. He did mention it could use a sauce, but then again our tastebuds always crave a good aioli or chipotle cream.
I, on the other hand love a sweet breakfast so I ordered their French Toast. Humblebrags uses baguette to make their French Toast which I found super interesting and also easier and less messy to eat. I’m a hard-core portion judger and when I saw the size of the plate, I did not think I would be filled but to my delight I was full and happy. I love that they added fruit to the toast, since I’m always craving fruit in the morning.
Although, we sat in the patio, I had to take a peek inside. The restaurant is located in a plaza closeby the Long Beach Airport and across from Lakewood Golf Course. I’m living for their decor, it reminds of an old-school diner with a rustic twist..
Althought, the restaurant isn’t huge there’s definitely plenty of seating with the bar, the counter, booths, and the patio.
We’re definitely coming back on a weekend I have my eye out for their drinks and desserts.
